Overview

The lamella clarifier utilizes the well-established principle of inclined plate clarification. This type of clarifier harnesses the force of gravity in combination with the effective settling area created by 55~60 degrees angle plastic parallel plates to separate solids from the pre-treated liquid flow. The treated liquid initially passes through a flocculation tank where polymer is introduced to encourage floc growth, before descending to the bottom of the clarifier and ascending through the plate pack(s) while allowing solids to settle at the bottom sludge cone or cones – depending on size. The solids are periodically removed from the bottom cone tank for further settling, and ultimately undergo final dewatering in a filter press.
