Overview
Submersible agitators are mechanical devices used to mix and stir liquids. They are widely used in anoxic tanks, anaerobic tanks and oxidation tanks in sewage treatment plants. In the moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) system, the main function of the submersible agitator is to maintain the uniform distribution of the suspended filler and prevent the filler from settling, thereby ensuring that the biofilm on the suspended filler is in full contact with the sewage and improving the removal efficiency of pollutants.
Features
Efficient Mixing Performance
The submersible mixer for MBBR tank is equipped with three-dimensional curved blades, which makes the water flow evenly distributed in three dimensions: up and down, front and back, and left and right, effectively avoiding local turbulence or uneven flow field that may be caused by traditional flat blades. Compared with traditional mixing equipment, the mixing efficiency of the submersible mixer is improved by about 25%-30%, which directly improves the removal rate of pollutants.
Energy Saving
The energy efficiency of the submersible mixer for MBBR tank can reach the IE4 standard, which is about 15%-20% higher than the energy efficiency of ordinary motors (IE2 standard). It can save about 5 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of energy consumption per day, which is equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 1.8 tons in one year. This can reduce costs and protect the environment for large-scale sewage treatment plants.
Durability
The submersible mixer for MBBR tank is mainly made of 316L stainless steel, with a tensile strength of up to 515 MPa, and can withstand more than 500 high-pressure backwashing operations without deformation. Moreover, 316L stainless steel has strong corrosion resistance. In a seawater environment with a salt content of 35‰, the corrosion rate is less than 0.01 mm/year, which is much lower than the 0.05 mm/year of ordinary stainless steel. These factors make its service life exceed 10 years, which is about 30% longer than that of traditional materials and equipment.
Application
This type of submersible mixer is suitable for the mixing process in the Moving-Bed Biofilm Reactor. Under anaerobic conditions, the mixing action of the mixer ensures thorough movement of water flow and media. This promotes full contact between the biofilm and the pollutants being treated, achieving effective degradation.
