Overview
The internal inflow drum screen is a filtering device for solid-liquid separation, which is widely used in sewage treatment and industrial wastewater treatment. Its structure includes a horizontally rotating metal drum covered with a microporous screen. During operation, the water to be treated enters the drum from one end, and the water flows out radially through the screen, and the solid particles are trapped on the screen. As the drum rotates, the trapped impurities are brought to the upper part and removed by the backwash device.
Working Principle
Its working principle is to use the microporous screen inside the drum screen to filter out impurities and particles in the liquid to purify and separate the liquid. The effluent enters the inside of rotary drum through the feed inlet and then passing over the distribution weir on to the drum surface. The particles and water separate as the drum rotates with the solids staying on the screen and passing down the space of the drum.
Features
High-efficiency Filtration
The internal inlet drum screen uses a stainless steel microporous screen with a mesh size of 80 to 200 per square inch, which can effectively intercept solid particles with a diameter greater than 0.2 mm, with a separation efficiency of up to 99%. Moreover, the equipment can process 50 to 200 cubic meters of water per hour. Compared with traditional flat-plate filtration equipment, its separation efficiency is increased by about 30%, which is suitable for large-flow, high-precision water treatment needs.
Automatic Backwashing
The internal inlet drum screen has a built-in automatic backwashing device with a backwashing pressure range of 0.3 to 0.5 MPa, which can automatically remove impurities on the screen. Compared with traditional equipment that requires manual cleaning, the internal inlet drum screen can reduce manual cleaning time by about 720 hours per year and save labor costs by about 20%. This feature is particularly suitable for scenarios that require long-term continuous operation, such as industrial sewage treatment plants.
Small Footprint
The overall length of the internal inlet drum screen is usually 1.5 to 3 meters, the width is 0.8 to 1.5 meters, and the installation area is reduced by about 50% compared with traditional sedimentation tanks. Taking a sewage treatment plant with a daily processing capacity of 1,000 cubic meters as an example, the use of an internal inflow drum screen can save about 15 square meters of floor space, freeing up more available space for users.
Low Energy Consumption
The internal inflow drum screen consumes only 0.75 to 2.2 kilowatts per hour during operation, which is about 20% lower than traditional filtration equipment, saving about 1,200 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year and saving users about 3,600 yuan in operating expenses.
